Overview

Located at the northeastern end of the Corbett Tiger Reserve off the Mohan Marchula road, the Camp Forktail Creek is a ideal place for campaign in the dense forests of Corbett. Situated in the village of Bhakrakot, this camp is surrounded by deciduous forests and rich birdlife as well as wildlife. This camp is named after the bird Forktail, a species that visits the forests of Sal in the winters. The camp was created in 2000, and now has a team of professional wildlife trackers and naturalist who help the guests to explore and understand nature.

There are a number of activities that take place at this camp like full or half day game drives, game viewing on the elephant back, birding, angling, rafting in the Kosi river, extended trips on the elephant back, overnight trips to the national park and overnight hikes in the jungle. This place gives a complete adventurous campaign experience to the nature lovers.

     A double bed or two single beds

    The camp offers 11 safari styled tents that are made on raised wooden platforms. Each tent has its own private balcony, and a semi-tiled toilet with running cold water and hot water is available twice a day on request, electricity is not put to use at the camp and therefore in the night oil lanterns are used. There are various Machans made around the camp for having a delightful outdoor experience with nature and its beauty.

Accommodation

Camp Forktail Creek offers 11 luxurious safari styled tents that stand on raised wooden platforms. Each tent has its own balcony so that you can have your private moments with nature. Each tent also has its own semi-tiled toilets with running cold water. Hot water is supplied in buckets on request during the mornings and evenings only. Electricity is rarely put use. Lighting in night is done with oil lanterns. You can also combine your stay at the Camp Forktail Creekwith trips and stays at the other forest rest houses within and around the Corbett National Park.

The Thatch

This one-stop eating place at the camp is built of locally available grass and wood. This place is beautifully lit up in the night using oil lanterns and candles. Variety of food choice to choose from the Forktail Creek also organizes Campfires and barbeque sessions for the campers that are arranged around the Thatch.
