Switzerland is all set to allure Indian Tourists with its promotional campaigns in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The country has launched two promotional campaigns – ‘Grand Tour of Switzerland’ and ‘Grand Train Tour of Switzerland’. Both the campaigns aim to increase the night stay of Indian tourists in Switzerland.
Deputy Director of Switzerland Tourism (India), Ritu Sharma said, “People from Gujarat form 60 per cent of the overall travelers to Switzerland from India. So we decided to launch these two campaigns from here”.
She added that tourists from India who visit Switzerland spend just two or three nights. She said, “But through these two promotional campaigns, we expect that they will spend more nights in Switzerland. Our aim is to increase the night stay of tourists in Switzerland,” Sharma said.
Claudio Zemp, Director of Switzerland Tourism shared that the number of tourists from India increased this year. He said, “The increase is particularly strong in Western India with majority of tourists coming from Gujarat. The two tours will allow tourists to experience the best of Switzerland.” He further added, “What we have seen is that people from India visit Switzerland only during summer. But it is beautiful during winter also. We also want to promote tourism during winters”.
The campaign also promoted travelling to Switzerland during the winter season.

Switzerland Tourism authorities also informed that a unique museum dedicated to comic actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin is under construction in Vevey near the Lake Geneva. It is Charlie Chaplin’s house, where he spent last 20 years of his life that is being converted into a museum.
The tours promoted at the campaign aim to exhibit different sides of Switzerland to the tourists. The Grand Tour of Switzerland is a 1,600 km long, one week road trip that takes through the most popular destinations of the country in one single journey. The second tour is The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland which makes people travel across the country in the most popular and beautiful train routes such as Golden Pass and Glacier Express.
