There is an Italian-style garden, a fern house with orchids, and a pool. The main attraction for spring is however the Summer Festival which usually takes place in the month of May.
Ooty Lake
Just minutes away from the central bus stop at Ooty is the beautiful lake stretching around 2.75 km. John Sullivan, the founder of Ooty built this lake in 1825 by tapping the water from the mountain streams. Today, it is a noteworthy attraction. Around 20 km drive from Ooty town, the source of Pykara Falls is River Pykara, the largest in the district. The water of this river is regarded holy by the ancient hill tribe called Toda. The falls rise above the Mukurtji Peak and are a beautiful sight.
