The tranquil and pristine Radhangara beach on the Havelock Island in the Andamans bagged the 8th rank, among the top 10 in the ‘World’s Travellers’ Choice Award-Winning Beaches’ by TripAdvisor. In the category of ‘Top 10 beaches in Asia’, Radhanagar beach was ranked 1 and Agonda beach in Goa was ranked No 5.
Total of 343 beaches were applauded by TripAdvisor including the top 25 beaches in the World. The other category of awards was of local list of beaches in Asia, Caribbean, Europe, the South Pacific, the US, Africa, Australia, Central America, South America and the UK Award.
Winners were decided on the basis of quality as well as quantity of traveler’s rating and reviews that were given for the beaches on TripAdvisor. This data was collected for over a span of a year. TripAdvisor India Country Manager Nikhil Ganju said, “I am very excited to see an Indian beach making it to the top 10 in the world, which only goes on to show the spectacular beauty of nature that India has to offer, and how much this is being appreciated by global travelers.”
The Baia do Sancho Fernando de Noronha beach in Brazil ranked first in the list followed by Grace Bay Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, Eagle Beach in Aruba, Playa Paraiso Cayo Largo in Cuba, Siesta Beach Siesta Key in the United State, La Concha Beach in Spain and Playa Norte Isla Mujeres in Mexico. No 9 and No 10 positions were bagged by Elafonissi Beach in Greece and Galapagos Beach in Ecuador respectively.
In Asia, No 2 positioned was taken by White Beach in Philippines, trailed by Ngapali Beach in Myanmar, and Nai Harn Beach in Phuket, Thailand.
