The Kalka-Shimla Train, a UNESCO World Heritage track will soon get upgrades. The scenic train ride on the heritage train from Kalka to Shimla is all ready to become even more wonderful. The officials at the Kalka Railways Workshop have announced plans to manufacture an 18-seater see-through Vistadome coach. The officials of the heritage train have recently sent a revised drawing of the coach to the railway headquarters, awaiting approval.
As per the plan of upgrading the train, the see-through Vistadome coach will have large glass windows and a glass ceiling. Travelers will have an amazing experience of viewing the breathtaking scenery. The coach will be introduced to the Kalka-Shimla route on a trial basis. The decision of manufacturing more such coaches would totally depend on the success of this coach. Also, the railways have not yet decided on the revised fare of the Vista-dome coach.
The Northern Railway officials operate the Kalka-Shimla heritage track. There are eight regular trains on the railway route while there are two special luxury trains as well designed for tourists and booked on request.
The Kalka-Shimla mountain train is one of India’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. The route records a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Once this coach will be started, the passengers will have a memorable journey passing through the beautiful mountain scenery of Himachal Pradesh.
