Finally some good news for travelers! Himachal Pradesh is all set to organize a 3-day dragon boat and paragliding festival in Dalhousie, Chamba post lockdown. The aim is to attract tourists from all over the country, which will help create local job opportunities and support the economy in these dreary times.
The Deputy Commissioner of Chamba, DC Rana has said that they are embedding their heart and soul into organizing this 3 days dragon festival in Chamera Lake, Taleru. He added that the paragliding festival will be held in Khajjiar near Dalhousie in October.
Dr. Rana shared some more information about the festival and said that the administration has been informed to visit the paragliding sites in Khajjiar, which is delightfully one of the top tourist places to visit in Dalhousie.
Disheartened by the lack of tourism in Himachal Pradesh, the Deputy Commissioner said that the objective of organizing dragon and paragliding festivals in Himachal Pradesh is to bring back that lost enthusiasm among those who are connected to the tourism industry in the region.
In response to these initiatives taken by the officials, all those connected to the tourism industry welcomed this idea. They stated that this is very encouraging for the tourism industry and business, which is currently under huge losses due to the COVID pandemic.
With that being said, the tourism industry workers have asked for the government’s help to provide them with instant relief by initiating an unlocking process, eliminating the e-pass system, and allowing those tourists who have already taken their first dose of COVID vaccine to visit Dalhousie, Chamba.
