Dates for the much-awaited Annual Amarnath Pilgrimage have been finally declared. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) confirmed that the Amarnath Yatra in 2024 would begin on June 29th, 2024 on Massik Shivaratri as per the Hindu calendar and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 19th after 51 days.
The meeting of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) was headed by the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, NN Vohra, also the chairman of SASB. The duration and dates for the Yatra were decided after discussions with the advisory board, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Committee.
To ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims, the board has decided that only 7,500 pilgrims would be allowed to register for the Amarnath Yatra on day per-route basis.
