The city of Srikakulam is a town and headquarters of the Srikakulam district, located in the north-eastern part of the state of Andhra Pradesh, in the southern part of India. The town of Srikakulam has a population of 109,666 according to the census of 2006. The city of Srikakulam is positioned on the banks of the Nagavali River. The main language of Srikakulam is Telugu. Srikakulam shares the border of the town with state of Orissa in East India. So, like most of the coastal districts in Andhra Pradesh, the city of Srikakulam is an agricultural society. The city of Srikakulam is situated at a height of 32 feet above the sea level. Previously, the British used to call Srikakulam as ‘Chicacole’.
