The interior décor is inspired by the Hoyasala and Mysore traditions of architecture which recreate the royal way of traveling by the Maharaja. The 19 coaches of the Golden Chariot, dressed in traditional aura and equipped with modern facilities, immediately win the heart of the guests. It’s a wonderful experience as the train chugs through the South Indian landscape, letting you enjoy the splendor of the South.

The Train

Cabins

There are 19 coaches in the train out of which 11 are guest coaches. Each coach has been named after the former ruling dynasties of ancient and medieval eras. The coaches have different floral motifs belonging to those particular times. The cabins of the train have a luxurious traditional décor where you can enjoy a comfortable stay amidst modern facilities and royal pampering. The period furniture, intricate carvings and the interiors are inspired from the architectural senses of Mysore and the Hoysala dynasty.

The cabins of the train boast of being well-appointed with modern amenities like air-conditioner with temperature control, LCD TV with satellite connection, private bath with plush toiletries, wardrobes and vanity or writing desk. Following are the facilities in the coach:

Dining

Nala and Ruchi are the two restaurants of the Golden Chariot, with lavish decor inspired from the temple architecture of Halebid and Hampi. In the relaxing ambiance of the restaurants, the guests can savor mouthwatering vegetarian and non vegetarian delicacies of various fares. You can choose from a la carte menu and table d’hôte meals (fare included in the tariff).

The loaded bar on the train offers the finest selection of Indian as well as international brands. In the opulent and sophisticated décor of the bar, enjoy a glass of spirits and wines along with light snacks.

Nala– Named after the legendary chef, Nala, this restaurant serves various lip-smacking dishes in a traditional ambiance.

Ruchi– Hindi word Ruchi, literally means a fine taste. At this restaurant, relish fine Indian and international delicacies.

Madira– This lounge bar aboard the train lets you simply relax and unwind your tired senses.  With a decor modeled on the Mysore Palace, the bar has a collection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Conference Car

The Golden Chariot also has a Conference car where you can take care of your business tasks whenever the need be. Following are the main additions of the well-equipped Conference car:
